Any advice for a young teen who wants to get his writing published?

I'm only 16 and I have been working on this short series for about a year now and i plan on improving it over the next few years. I was wondering if anyone knows where they can get small works published. Any help? Also any help on writing in general?Any advice for a young teen who wants to get his writing published?
Chris Paolini did it (but it was horribly written and very cliche. But let's just forget that for a few moments, shall we?) and you can do it too. Just have teachers help you write and edit, and try getting a friend to help support you in your writing whenever you feel like it is too big for you to handle or the pressure comes down. Just focus on finishing it for now, don't go too beyond your standards because it can get overwhelming.

Next step after you have written it, is to print out many copies and hand them out to teachers, new and old, neighbors, friends, family, sibling's teachers, ect and tell them NOT TO BE SOFT on you and don't fight back the feedback. Listen to it, stare at the red marks, then fix it! Then go back again and repeat the process until you are sure you have everything fixed and you can't get anyone to edit your novel because they are sick of the story.

The next step is writing a letter of query to an agent. You can get an agent by going to your local bookstore (fun, I know!) spend money (whoo!) and a hefty book called The Writer's Market 2008 (Yeah!) and go through each and every agent and cross off the ones that won't publish your novel and the possibilities of the ones that would. Then go to their website and read what they have and if they wouldn't publish your kind of book, make a big X through that circle. You'll have a few names left that you can send your letter of query to (edit, edit, edit that too) and a sample of your novel.

Be prepared to face a lot of rejection and a lot of waiting. Patience is a virtue in this process. They have 10000 of manuscripts to look through and read each day and it is going to take a while for them to get to yours and it might be very well get thrown into the shredder. Just toughen up and if no one will publish your novel, try rewriting it and see what you can do OR you can self publish it (not recomended, but if you are really desperate, then go ahead).

Sooner or later you'll have a bound and printed copy of your written baby called a Novel or in this stage a Book. Then you can sit back, relax, and think of the next novel you are going to write (if you want to go through it again.)

Good luck and keep on writing!Any advice for a young teen who wants to get his writing published?
You might want to invest in a subscription to a magazine called ';Writer's Digest';. It can be found at:

http://www.writersdigest.com/

They also publish a series of books (updated yearly) that list markets where you can sell books and articles. These are very valuable resources. There main book is called ';Writer's Market'; and lists thousands of places you can sell articles and stories.

I believe the have other editions for selling books, poetry, etc., but the Writer's Digest has a little bit of everything in it.
I'm a preteen who does a lot of writing, and I'm wishing for it to be published as well. I can't say I know how to get it published like a book, like hardcover or paperback, but I'm going to make a website (sampa.com is free) and put my stories on there.
