Any advice for teen beginners seeking auditions for tv shows extras will do?

Im really into acting, im good at it, but i have never had any experience on television. i dont go to a drama or acting school but i have had previous experiences in dancing and acting and singing in pantomimes in local venues i have been the main character of the show a couple of times but these have only been local things. would any of this history be relevant or useful for a small part - an audition?? because i understand these sorts of things are oversubscribed, so really if anyone's got any advice on how to get auditions for beginners wanting to get these parts or anything of such...im in the uk and im 15, i dont wish to take a career in acting i would just like one off parts.

Try doing a few commercials first, that will start your acting way up. then you can do backround acting, then little person acting (a few lines, a little part of the story), then TV shows, then movies.

If you're not interested in a career in acting, that's gonna be a big strike against you right there. There are more than enough people who _want_ that acting career to fill up all the available parts down to the extras, with enough left over to staff every restaurant and coffee shop in LA. And any casting director is going to presume that those who _do_ want the career are going to be far more motivated, better trained, and more experienced than someone who just wants to be on TV.





If you're not interested in signing up for the long haul, your best bet would probably be reality shows.
Hey it's cool that you are from the U.K. I wish that I could go there one day. Well to answer your question I would say maybe you should look at what is out there, and try to find places that you could go and audition. Like if they do live plays over where you are then maybe you could see if you could join.


By the way I'm 15 also.
