Fitness advice for a teen male?

I'm 16, stand 6' 2'; and about 170-175 lbs. I've lost a good twenty pounds over the summer and I'm wondering what's a good weight for me to be at? I'd love to lose maybe fifteen more.

I'm looking to be just a little thinner and toned. Can anyone recommend some good excercises to do in addition to my daily cardio? Thanks (:Fitness advice for a teen male?
yea, for ur age if you are 6'2';, and u have a small frame, u should weigh about 160, if u have a medium frame, u should weigh about 175, if u have a large frame, u should weigh about 185-190 anything above that is considered ';obese';.....try to run around carrying weights, it sounds silly, but it works.....good luck!Fitness advice for a teen male?
Actually you are at a good weight for your height. the key is to maintain that weight and muscle building is a good thing to do. Alternate your cardio workout and muscle strengthening workout. do muscle strengthening on the opposite days of the cardio or aerobic workout. Don't overdo it! 30 minutes to 45 max each session is enough. Build up to a certain level don't start at that level. a fitness instructor may help or if you are still in high school a gym teacher can help.

Advice for an American teen visiting the Philippines in March?

Im a 15 year old American girl.

I'm quite nervous about meeting my aunt's family and i hope they'll like me. What to bring? What to wear? How to act? Im so nervous! lol

I don't want to do anything wrong to offend them or anything.

advice??Advice for an American teen visiting the Philippines in March?
Just be yourself %26amp; everything will be okay.....enjoyAdvice for an American teen visiting the Philippines in March?
There are many of Americans in the Philippines - and it is actually the second largest country in the world populated by Americans.

There are 110,000 Americans in Manila (capital city of the islands) and many of them had lived here all their lives (and met their American wives here). As such, Americans are pretty much a common sight here.

What to bring?

-%26gt; If you mean a gift or something, then I suggest you bring stuff like Obama souvenirs or American souvenirs (like a California shirt). Filipinos don't value a gift because of how much it cost but because it says that you care for them.

What to wear?

-%26gt; For your personal items, just bring the usual. Filipinos can be fashion-conscious sometimes, and because of the hot and humid weather, they tend to wear thin clothing. Most Filipinos wear the same kind of clothing as Americans do - and clothes here are cheaper than in the US, so instead of bringing lots of your clothes here, you can instead buy them here.

How to act?

-%26gt; Filipinos act like Americans, as simple as that. Dress with fashion and modernity, but remember to act conservatively - for example, no short-shorts (in the provinces), no going out with bras or panties (obviously!), and no nude bathing - I think you won't like these things anyway!

-%26gt; In Manila, Filipinos expect you to act like Americans do - so don't be overly guarding of the way you act. Besides, there are lot of foreigners living here too, so don't be too self-conscious.

-%26gt; Filipino culture is largely Hispanic and American, with some Pacific Island cultural imprints. Many Filipinos are partly Indigenous with mixed Spanish, Chinese, or American ancestry, and are by and large Christians.

-%26gt; If you will be staying in a small house (or in a house where there are no maids), try to offer to do some chores, but most Filipinos won't let visitors do chores.

-%26gt; English is understood by most Filipinos, but you better learn basic greetings to make yourself feel at home! (Hello = Kumusta; Good Day = Magandang Araw; Thank You = Salamat; Goodbye = Sige po)

What not to miss?

-%26gt; Definitely, the malls here in the Philippines are one of a kind! We have the world's largest malls (Mall of Asia, SM North Edsa Mall, Glorietta), as well as designer malls that make you feel like you're in Paris (Greenbelt Mall, PowerPlant Mall, Bonifacio High Street)

-%26gt; The beaches, of course! The Philippines was ranked as the world's number one beach country, and with 7,107 islands, never forget to visit at least one of them!
Bring small gifts for as many relatives as you can. Small gifts are best. take advantage of different foods and drinks, treat elders with respect and kindness. Play with little ones and offer to help around the house. If told you don't have to because of the maids respect their wishes. Treat theor house staff(maids) as they do.

MOST OF ALL---- ENJOY YOURSELF AND HAVE A GREAT TIME.
kumusta po means how are you with respect. we use ';po'; when talking with older people. as you arrive say this to people who you get to meet.

salamat po means thank you.

no need to add ';po'; if you are talking with younger people than you.

these are the most important phrases for starters.

We appreciate foreigners talking little tagalog. If someone would laugh at your accent let them be. We love hearing foreigner with their accent talking tagalog.

Dont forget to try our malls. 168 is one of the places where you would buy things that are a lot cheaper than items in branded malls.

We also have a lot of branded malls. Mall of Asia, Glorietta, Shangrila, gateway. etc.

Hey its going to be a vacation! have fun.
Aside from the other advices, I suggest you learn a little Tagalog.

Like Kamusta which means how are you. You could use that as an ice breaker. And Salamat for Thank You.

And just be yourself :) You wouldn't want people liking you for something you're not :)
u dont have to worry about anything. filipinos love americans.

u should probably have like a preppy attire since that is more acceptable. the celebrities there wear hollister,etc...

also, havaianas are very popular.

u shouldn't be uptight.just be ur nice self.
anywhere you go, just don't be arrogant and show superiority of your being. the locals just don't care whatever you are. just be friendly, but not so super.
just be yourself, okay? you're just like visiting your family from Southern California...
They will love you until you run out of money. Just don't run out of money.
just be yourself...show them who you are but with respect..when you see them, greet them with a smile..wear simple dress..that's it!
We are quite the same age and I am from the Philippines. Don't try to think that we all like money because we don't. If you are going to our country in March, summer time is approaching and March is time of Graduation or Recognition Day for students in primary and high school in the Philippines. If you are going to attend some things like that, i suggest bring formal/semi-formal dress. And as I told you earlier, summer is approaching, maybe it will be hot. Bring clothes that are comfortable with summertime.

How to act? Just be simple. Just be yourself and try to speak Tagalog like mentioned by someone regarding this question.

Advice on how to form friendships for teens?

well the best place to get friends is school or online,........ online my not be good but at school well theres lots of ways to do it at schools like when you have a partner for something you could say hi my name is *name* soon you say so what do you do its sounds like you are trying to get a gf lol but its notAdvice on how to form friendships for teens?
just hang out with people who share your interestsAdvice on how to form friendships for teens?
well first the teens would have to interact in some way, school, a club, or hanging out, then if they have things in common, or things that they like to do together the friendship will grow and each teen will learn to like new things from each other and each others families.

Too many young teens asking for weight advice?

is it just me or does alot of these questions seem to coming from young teenagers from 10-15 yrs old. i find this concerning as there in the stage of body development and shouldnt be dieting or creating eating disorders as it will affect there body for the rest of there life

i remember the good old days when kids were clueless about weight and we ate what we wantToo many young teens asking for weight advice?
i agree that too many kids are asking adult questions. many of them come in one of two categories: How do I lose weight or am I too young to have sex. it's quite sad that kids are doing these things so young. i wasn't even thinking about sex when i was a kid...i didn't really even know what it was when i was a kid to be honest. i blame a lot of it on the media...the media is constantly telling kids how to look sexy and that sex before marriage is ok and you have to be stick thin to be pretty. lately i've been supporting the dove campaign. it shows that beauty isn't always on the outside. Too many young teens asking for weight advice?
It's not bad at all as long they are smart about it. I'm 16, average weight and height, and I obsess about exercises and what I'm eating daily, and I feel/look much better than when I was left in the dark about my health.

The problem is when people are ignorant to what is good and what is bad. I have no idea why, but people don't research properly or ask the right questions to the right people when making lifestyle changes.

Like an hour or so of research and girls would realize what anorexia does, lazy people would learn that it actually takes effort to look good, and fat people would learn that it's not good, or even possible, to lose 30 lbs a month.
parents are getting worse now-a-days too though. they are obese and fat (85% of the USA) and the kids are overweight too due to the bad parenting

I think the ages here are more 12-18yrs

I just say..eat healthy and be active. those two things are enough for kids

---but what's worse is seeing the teens in the parenting section saying they have a kid or are going to have one. THEY'RE JUST KIDS! today's youth is kinds of f-ed up it seems----

I agree, when I was that age my main concerns were school work, hanging out with friends and watching tv I didn't even worry about my weight untill I was about 17 or 18. I think it has to do with the media today because you have all these shows like The O.C. and Americas Next Top Model where you have these girls who are rediculasly thin and I think thats a bad influence on young girls because they see that and want to be like that.

  • Please any good advice for run amok kids, two teens and two toddlers.?

My two eldest kids 13 %26amp;16 were in care for 4 %26amp; 1/2 years and i fought til I won them back. In the time that they were gone I met and had two babies with my now ex. My problems is that my teens have brought a lot of baggage back home with them and I am at my wits end. One of my toddlers 3 nearly 4 is a very full on child who nowadays screams all the time. I think my teens are terrorizing him with stories of the boogieman and hitting them both when my back is turned. Because I am a single mother with no family and cannot be in two places at once I am starting to feel a bit depressed due to this. Have just moved into my permanent housing commision house and want to for once have a normal life with my kids but i'm finding it to be almost impossible. Also my 16 year olds boyfreind has moved in and he's great, but it has made her a lot more bitchier towards my 13 year old boy. Please if you have any idea's that can help me please dont hesitate to let me know. Thanks. 2 are A%26gt;D%26gt;H%26gt;D.Please any good advice for run amok kids, two teens and two toddlers.?

Any advice on how to start a non profit for teen moms and still make money?

I really want to start a program/organization for teen moms in the DC area. This has been my passion for years. However, I am at a stand still because I am not sure how I would be able to start up and run this program full time and still make a living. Please help. All suggestions welcomed! =)Any advice on how to start a non profit for teen moms and still make money?
There are 2 separate and distinct issues related to starting your non-profit.

The first is the legal corporation that is an issue for your state bureau of corporations or similar state government agency. I don't know if the DC has a similar agency.

The second is it's tax status. That is governed and granted by the IRS.

Download the IRS instructions and publications on non-profit organizations. It can get confusing if you start to get mired in some of the technical details. Don't worry too much about those. Focus on the forms and deadlines needed to establish your official tax status. It takes time.

If the total revenue of the corporation is less than $25,000 in a year, no tax return is required. But you still need to get the IRS to certify the organization as a non-profit.

Great idea and the non-profit organizational form gives a lot of people added comfort as to the value of your mission.

As the founder and primary employee, you have the ability to pay yourself a reasonable salary from the non-profit. I bet your local United Way Executive Director pulls down a salary of well over $100,000, plus benefits!

Governance of the corporation will need to be by a Board of Directors, though. You can pick the board yourself. You need to have bylaws, too. Try a google search for non-profit bylaws to see examples.

    Any non-profit actually MUST have revenues that are greater than expenses in order to survive over time and build the organization. However, because of their tax status, they do not pay taxes on this ';profit.';

How's that for a start?Any advice on how to start a non profit for teen moms and still make money?
First, this would depend on what type of income you are looking to make. If you are looking for reasonable operating costs (which would include your salary) you might be able to obtain government grants or corporate grants on a yearly term to fund your non profit group. You might also be able to obtain corporate and individual donations which would be used for various things to run your operation, including your salary, because without you, the organization can't function.
Non profits gets paid, All it means is that you don't charge for the things you do, but you do accept donations. So you can make money if you rally the right crowd and find people that are willing to donate to your cause. If your in it to make money then you may want to work for someone in that Field that offers a paying position. If you are genuine you will be successful and people will donate the funds to help. Good Luck!
Start by raising about $2000 - you'll need it to establish your non-profit properly with the state. legalzoom.com can help.

After that, make a list of target companies and people you think would be willing to donate. No one can legally donate without your FED ID number and having been established with the state as a non-profit. So once that is in place, you can go to the next step.

There is no ';making a living'; in non-profit. I started one of my own and I work full time in order to keep it going. You might make enough to barely get by, but I mean barely.
Maybe non profit isnt the way to go. You should go for something else like investors. There are millions of old rich dudes out there just wating for a proposal that makes sense.
teen moms teen moms teen moms. What about teen fathers? Is there nothing out there for them?
It's not ';non-profit'; if you're looking to make money from it.

Arkansas law advice need for a pregnant teen?

In arkansas is a 17yr old emancipated, and therefore able to move out of their guardians home, upon having a baby?

if you do not know do you know were i can find a clear answer to my question? or know what procedure are need to go through for said person to gain emancipation rights?Arkansas law advice need for a pregnant teen?
Arkansas Code: 9-27-362. Emancipation of juveniles.

    (a) A petition for emancipation may be filed in a circuit court by the attorney or the attorney ad litem for a juvenile who is in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services pursuant to a dependency-neglect, dependency, or family in need of services case.

    (b) The petition shall be served along with a notice of hearing to the juvenile's parent, legal guardian, or legal custodian.

    (c) The circuit court has the authority to emancipate a juvenile in a dependency-neglect, dependency, or family in need of services case.

(d)(1) The court may emancipate the juvenile after a hearing on the petition if the petitioner shows by a preponderance of the evidence that:

    (A) The juvenile is at least seventeen (17) years of age;

    (B) The juvenile is willing to live separate and apart from his or her parent, legal guardian, or legal custodian;

    (C) The juvenile has an appropriate place to live;

    (D) The juvenile has been managing or has the ability to manage his or her own financial affairs;

    (E) The juvenile has a legal source of income, such as employment or a trust fund;

    (F) The juvenile has health care coverage or a realistic plan on how to meet his or her health needs;

    (G) The juvenile agrees to comply with the compulsory school attendance laws; and

    (H) Emancipation is in the best interest of the juvenile.

    (2) The court shall consider the wishes of the parent, legal guardian, or legal custodian in making its decision.

    (3) If the juvenile has an attorney ad litem, the court shall consider the recommendation of the attorney ad litem.

    (e) An order of emancipation has the following effects:

    (1) The juvenile has the right to obtain and consent to all medical care, including counseling;

    (2) The juvenile has the right to enter into contracts;

    (3) The juvenile has the right to enroll himself or herself in school, college, or other educational programs;

    (4) The juvenile has the right to obtain a driver's license without consent of a parent or other adult so long as the juvenile complies with the remaining requirements of the driver's license law;

    (5) The juvenile's parent, legal guardian, or legal custodian is no longer legally responsible for the juvenile;

    (6) The juvenile may still be charged with a delinquency and prosecuted in juvenile court;

    (7) The juvenile may not marry without parental permission pursuant to 搂 9-11-102;

    (8) The juvenile is not relieved from compulsory school attendance;

    (9) The department is not relieved from the responsibility of providing independent living services and funding for which the juvenile is eligible upon request by the juvenile;

    (10) Child support orders are not terminated but may cease upon entry of an order from the court that issued the order of child support;

    (11) Until the juvenile reaches the age of majority, the juvenile remains eligible for federal programs and services as a juvenile;

    (12) The juvenile is not permitted to obtain items prohibited for sale to or possession by a minor, such as tobacco or alcohol;

    (13) The juvenile remains subject to state and federal laws enacted for the protection of persons under eighteen (18) years of age such as the prohibition against a juvenile's obtaining a tattoo; and

    (14) No statute of limitations is affected.

History. Acts 2005, No. 1990, 搂 19.Arkansas law advice need for a pregnant teen?
No, pregnancy does not immediately emancipate you, nor does childbirth. It does give you some rights regarding health care issues etc, but you are still a minor.

The emancipation process can be lengthy enough, and difficult enough that at 17, I would just wait the next year out and then move on.

In order to become emancipated, as a rule, you have to go before a judge and show him three main things.

    1) that you can financially care for yourself on your own, that means pay the rent, utilities groceries etc, on your own. Not living with a friend, not living with a relative, on your very own.

    2) You have to have a good reason. I want to live with my bf/gf, I hate my parents, my parents rules suck are NOT good enough.

    3) as a rule, your parents have to agree to it.
Legally, until you are 18, your parents are responsible for you. You can have yourself emancipated at 16 if you can prove you are able to take care of yourself and go to school. Child services won't touch you at 17 even though technically they are supposed to. Here is a site that has info that may help you out.

Insulin pump advice for a teen?

I'm 12 years old and a type one and I was wondering what I need to know about the pump and what advice I should get before getting one?Insulin pump advice for a teen?
The pump is awesome for insulin dependent diabetics. It gives you so much more freedom and versatility with controlling your diabetes. When it comes to choosing a pump, its up to your preference. The main pumps on the market are the Omni Pod, MiniMed Paradigm, OneTouch Ping, and Animas. The are all comparable and have pretty much the same features and functions. The major difference will be between the tubing and non tubing.

MiniMed and OneTouch Ping have tubing that connect the pump to the injection site on you, but they allow for a quick release so that you can disconnect the tubing and pump at anytime without removing the injection site. The Omni Pod is without tubing and sits directly on your skin which has the advantage of no tubing but disadvantage of no quick release.

If you are a water person the Omni Pod is wearable in the shower, while the OneTouch Ping is completely water proof for swimming.

The MiniMed and Ping are both operational from controls on the pump and remotes. The Omni Pod is only operational from the remote/glucometer so if you misplace it you cannot control your insulin dosing.

Here other questions related to yours

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

You can order a sample OmniPod from their website and wear it around to see how it feels.

MiniMed Medtronic has amazing customer service from my experience and you are assigned a trainer/rep who will come to your house to educate you and set you up on the pump.

The Ping looks like the next generation pump with color display, color cases, waterproof enclosure and two way communication with pump and meter.

Either way you go, you can't go wrong.

Enjoy!Insulin pump advice for a teen?
Other than what Sarah has told you what you need to know is carb counting and be prepared to test before and after every meal. Your bolus dose will be based on how many carbs you are eating. I use the minimed pump and as Sarah mentioned they have excellent customer service. Getting a pump was the best decision I ever made I'm sure you will be pleased with the ease and flexibility it gives you plus much better control. My A1C went from over 13 to 6.4 after getting the pump. Best of Luck.
Nice answer, Sarah. Lots of information. Learned a thing or two myself.

    umm....how about a disney princess?
Think simple..and depending on what you will do that night, practical. With current retro themes, you could always turn into a really cool hippie....jeans, head band across forehead, anything fringe with tiedye tshirt. Or if you prefer punk or goth....dark makeup, lots of metal accessories - just look for pix on web to help guide. Always old favorite is a gypsy which would be easy with current ethnic clothing trends, flowing, gathered patterned skirt, peasant or embroidered shirt, LOTS of costume jewelry (Goodwill or raid someone's jewelry box), add shawl and big hoop earring...done. Most of these could be done by raiding yours or someone's closet (if they agree). Good luck, have fun and keep it safe - K?

    Cleaning Advice for a Teen??

I'm 15 and I'm home today and my mom is working. Since she has been working so much lately shes had a hard time keeping up with the housework. So I wanted to do a good, throrough, deep down cleaning of the whole house.

I know the basics but I was just wondering if anyone wanted to suggest some cleaning tips for me?

    Thanks!!!Cleaning Advice for a Teen??
Start with the Kitchen and finish that room. It is usually the most dreaded, and will therefore be the most appreciated. Wipe down counters, and sweep and mop. Then move to the bathrooms, same deal. Vacuum all wall edges and check all walls and windows for cobwebs. Next tackle the living room. Go from there.

By the way... you rock. I wish you were my daughter.Cleaning Advice for a Teen??
wow, as a mom of 4, I would be soooooo blessed if one of my kids did this for me. How great of you. Well, since you are deep cleaning, definitely dust everything. vacuum, mop, do any dishes that are in the sink/dishwasher, laundry would be a huge help, if all you do is wash and dry it, but i would fold it so things don't wrinkle. Make it smell nice. Burn some candles or spray the furniture and carpets with febreeze. This will definitely surprise her and make her very happy. It's not too often that teens, no offense, do this for their moms. GOd Bless you. Good luck!
Awwww.....how sweet! Just do your best I think she will appreciate your effort. Mop, Vacum, clean kitchen, %26amp; bathrooms and maybe dust some sounds pretty good to me.
My only tip other than the basics is to use Spray-N-Wash to spot clean the carpets. Spray the stain, let it set for a few minutes, then rub with a towel. Wish I could help you more. I think it's a really nice thing you're doing for your mom. More kids should be like you.
aww thats so nice of you too do for your mom.. get a spray bottle put half bleach half water shake it up clean countertops bathroom.. change all bed linens freash sheets pillow cases dust off anything thats dusty.. umm vacume sweep and throw all dirty laundry in the washer and take a bag with you around the house throw anything thats not no good in it.. good luck ....
you sound like a awesome kid!!! Want to come stay at my house for a few weeks lol any how. The kitchen and the living room are the most important things to clean. Also making sure the laundry is done is also a good idea. Thats my biggest problem is knowing that its never ending.. any help with laundry and im a happier person. Keep up the good luck... you'll make your momma proud
lysol and clorox. spray down the floors and wipe off the counters and hour before she comes home. it will smell like youve been working all day
Before vacuuming make sure you remove everything of the floor

instead of stopping and starting the vacuum cleaner. If your planning on doing the laundry sort the clothes into colors Light dark towels ect... If you mop the floor start away from you and walk backward.
the first thing is to start one by one room. and do it from top to bottom for example start from entrance then living, dining and then other rooms. kitchen and washrooms r needed to be done everyday.I also give 15 minutes everyday for organizing (it can be any cabinet, or drawer just one per day) so do cleaning everyday.in .once ur home is clean thoroughly, everyday u wont have to give too much time for cleaning.so for thoroughly cleaning clean the walls, door, floor and furniture . throw any unusable stuff, just kitchen needs much time but I clean just one thing everyday and my kitchen is neat and clean every time like one day I clean microwave then fridge, stove , floor and one drawer or cabinet one by one.dont let dishwashing in sink it will really help in cleaning .

the things I have told u it will not take too much time believe me and ur home will be neat and clean

I need color advice for a college teen room! Please help!?

I am 18, in college, and living at home with my mom. She just got divorced and we both are looking for a new start in our new home.

I want to do my walls either pink or blue (not baby colors, but not too dark) And then I can't decide what color of furniture to get... white or black. I need color advice! What would look good? I dont want it to look babyish, you know!? I want it to look cool and clean for this new stage in my life.I need color advice for a college teen room! Please help!?
Both pink and blue have some great paint colors that are vibrant without being too dark. Get to a paint store and get lots of sample cards. They're free and will really help you make up your mind. You can also buy little samples of a few paint colors for not a lot of money. If you have the time, paint big patches on each of the walls to get a good feel of each color before you make your final choice. I personally think blue is better, but it will really boil down to you finding a shade that works for you.

As for furniture, I would suggest against white - especially if you're trying to stay away from the baby look. Pink or blue with white screams baby room to me. I think black is a little too stark a contrast with a good pink or blue. That said, I think you should consider chocolate brown for your furniture shade. It looks awesome with both pink and blue and will give the room a warm, mature feel.

Good luck with your new home. I hope you and your mom do well with your fresh start.I need color advice for a college teen room! Please help!?
Blue and light blue thick striped. Then take a mocha brown paint and paint a 4 or 5 inch thick line about 4 feet high up horizontally across the walls.

You can use brown and/or wicker furniture and blue bedding to match with a couple of mocha bolster pillows.

Get a plain unfinished lamp shade from the craft store (wood-about 4$) and paint it blue and mocha checkered.

You could even add a pink line above the mocha line and then throw in some throw pillows or a soft blanket in pink for the edge of the bed to add more girliness.
I would do a bright blue not neon but vibrant. And for furniture I would go with white. Black would look to harsh against the blue. Use ';hot'; pink orange and lime green accents and you'll have a really cool clean looking room.
Paint your walls a medium shade of periwinkle, (bluish lavendar). Get black furniture and use white and different shades of blues as accent colors. Good luck to both of you. Your mom is lucky to have you with her now.
I would paint the walls a neutral color then add the color with your furniture and accessories. That way you could change colors or style without repainting. :) Good luck!
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

    http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_鈥?/a>

Check out a color called ';regale blue'; (# 6801). I think it would be just what you're looking for - bright %26amp; refreshing without looking like a kid's room.

I would get black furniture because that would look super sharp up against a blue wall. And then you could get a black %26amp; white comforter - that would look very modern %26amp; sophisticated, but still fun. Check these out:

Isn't it a huge mistake for teens to get dating advice from P&S?

Join the MARINESIsn't it a huge mistake for teens to get dating advice from P%26amp;S?
Yes, it is.Isn't it a huge mistake for teens to get dating advice from P%26amp;S?
You would have thought so, but somehow I think they'll never learn!
If it's dating advice they want, they're probably better off in Singles %26amp; Dating than P%26amp;S.
    Teens?

Thats a sore subject with me. Of course I've lived with 4 so far
Yes! Then again, I find P%26amp;S people to be more sane than S%26amp;D people...
At least here the advice is better then in S%26amp;D.

By the way, did anyone think that after devastating S%26amp;D last night they'll all come here?

    Nightmare!

    P%26amp;S%26amp;S%26amp;D!

    lol
    i would say so, yes
    Yes.

    But I agree with many of you that it is better than S%26amp;D. If you ask for dating advice there, the answers you'll likely get would be ';Why? Are you pregnant?'; or ';Be careful, you might be pregnant.';
You tell them dude, You are so right, have a great day =]
dun think so..where else can u get tips and advices f.o.c. from real ppls?some of it reallt useful and helpful too,ya know?plus,if we ask our frends we mught gt like 2-3 answrs, but e can get like 10-15 answers in minutes..
Probably, but not their first mistake made.

    1) they can't articulate (or spell, or use punctuate)

    2) They often feel they should be in relationships they shouldn't have the emotional maturity for for another 5 yeas (and it's a running scale)

    3) They are doing things that they can't discuss with their parents. (if you are 23 and ask your mom about sex, you will get a TOTALLY different answer than if you are 12 and ask the same question.

    4) they mistake attraction with love.

    5) they think sex is the path to being loved

So, coming to people at P%26amp;S could be harmful if someone wants to do harm or is immature, or has some developmental issues. (or heck, is just plain dumb)
    Yes, they might get pregnant!
its a huge mistake for anybody any age to get any advise from anyone on p@s but yet thats what i love about us
Yes, I try to stay away from those. They don't want my opinion.
If they are taking this advice seriously then yes it is a mistake...
If they take the advice from morons and jackasses, then yes.If they're taking advice from other teens or people who have been in similar situations, and really want to help, then no.But I'd fully expect parents to load their kids up with advice on dating.
    very very huge
What and have them learn it on the streets
And they should get advice from S%26amp;D?

Do you have job advice for a teen?

Ok. so i'm15 and i really want a job

i don't know how to go about it %26amp; my parents are no help.

any advice on how i can get a job?

please and thank you (:Do you have job advice for a teen?
First off, most people hire 16 and older unfortunately for you. I would however suggest the following places to try. Movie theater, Fast food, or a grocery store that still uses baggers. Also dog groomers/walkers and kennels can always use the help.

Now that we have established a place to go, kind of... Lets talk about your attitude. When you walk into a place to pick up an application, look like you are ready to take the interview. In other words dress for success. Yes its just picking up a piece of paper but its the first impression that gets them. Once you get the application take it with you and ask when a good time to bring it back would be. Most managers will tell you any day except Monday or Friday as those are just really hectic days usually.

When returning the application, be dressed and ready for an interview.

Now... If you turn the application in and they tell you they will call you in a few days, ask when a good day is to check up on your application. They will usually tell you a day later in the week. Keep this in mind and CALL them and politely remind them of who you are and that you wanted to give them a few days to look over your application and that you will be looking forward to an interview.

(If they keep putting you off, go down there in person, once again dressed for an interview and let them know you are still available for a job.)

If they set you up for an interview right away, great. Get the time and date, be 10 minutes early to that interview. Bring a pen and a notepad(without the hello kitty stickers on it) and be ready to take notes. Also be dressed to impress once again.

    Now for the interview questions.

Most businesses have a set form of questions they ask you.

The first is usually an ice breaker such as.

    -Tell me about yourself.

Tell them about you. Start off with your name, where you go to school, what your studying, and groups you are in in school... any sports you play. Anything that makes you interesting.

Interviewers do not want to hear you like to hang with friends, or shop. They are interested that you have a goal in life.

Also they will ask you things like

    -what is customer service

-Where do you see your self in 1 year/3 years etc...

    -What is team work

They do NOT want to hear ummm's and ahhh's

they want to know what you think customer service is, that you have a goal outside of highschool, and that you understand team work is not just working with a team, but working as a team.

Above all, if you are nervous, breathe. Look good, sit straight, dress to impress, and smile!

Hope this helps a bit!Do you have job advice for a teen?
you are qualified to serve bugers at Mc Donalds
Smaller franchises are easier to get jobs at (Mc Donalds, Baskin Robbins, Togo's, Taco Bell, etc..) because they have a high turnover rate, which means they go through people fast. They are good places to get some work experience to start off with. Just remember that no matter where you get your first job, its unlikely that it will be the place you stay with forever! You just need to get your foot in the door.
well, assuming your state doesn't require a workers permit (some states require you to be 16 to get a job without one) just go out to places and ask for applications. fill them out correctly and honestly. if you get a call for an interview, in most cases of your type of jobs, that means you're going to get the job, but not always. just go around and ask for aps and turn them in. just remember to have a social security card and ID when you go in for interviews and what not.
A lot of local small grocery stores will let you work at 15. That is about the only thing I can find in my area besides a McDonalds. If you find anything, let me know.

Good luck in your search! What do you think of this?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWoEehCfx鈥?/a>
Go to places and ask if they are hiring, don't go online or call. I've met several busniess owners who won't even consider some one who won't come in person.

When you do go in, make sure you dress nicely. Don't go in wearing a tank top with something written on the shirt. But don't dress formal. I usually just wear a white T-shirt. It's nice, but not overdoing it.

Last but not least, be polite. The first impression is extremely important.

I hope I didn't confuse you with all of that, good luck with getting a job.
Remember there are 3 main things an employer is looking for.

    1. Longevity

    2. Work ethic

    3. Lowest pay
just take your CV into a few shops around your area, if you live near a McDonalds you can apply online..
no..but if you find out, plz tell me
    project payday best for me
Go around and ask. It's actually very simple. Go up to a fast food place, and ask the person in the front if there are any job oppenings. Notice the age and personalty of the person you are talking to, this will give you a good look of what is expected of you.
Since everybody else is bullshitting I'll give you the info you need. Getting a job right now is tough.

When you go out to apply, bring your own pen and fill the application right then and try to talk to the manager face to face. Dont dress super formal and dont dress sloppy. Dont wear a hat. If this helps I recommend dressing like a ';prep';. Hand the application in to the manager.

Never apply to one place and wait for them. Give yourself an afternoon of pure boredom and stop by as many places as you can and submit applications. Give it about 6-7 days and call them all asking if they've looked over your application (important).

Interviews. When you go in for an interview dress like a ';prep'; again. Do NOT wear a hat. Seriously I can't stress that enough I've seen a lot of people get denied immediately because they come in with a hat. Try not to be nervous and just talk to them like they were a friend. Its okay to ask them questions about the position available such as hours and shift. No need to conjure exotic compound sentences to try to sound formal or professional.

Be prepared for questions referring to previous experience of leadership, or previous experience working as a team. They will probably ask you things like that since you have no prior experience.

Try to smile as much as possible. Shake their hand when you leave an interview and when you arrive.
Learn how to run your own business so you never have to be enslaved by any corporation. That way YOU bring home all the profits and make the rules! This economy is a good indicator of what the future should be for you. Good luck! You are our future!
You can try Babysitting jobs in your area on Craigslist.com.

If not, try Careerbuilder.com, they have some retail store jobs.

I'm assuming your a beginner in the ';job world';,

So i would recommend babysitting or anything of that nature.

    I hope i helped,

    Good Luck.

    :)
Babysit or wait until your 16 and go to Cosco cause they pay really well
hi haha im in the EXACT same position as you! im 15 and my parents are no hekp either. all ive been doing is searching on seek.co.nz and trademe..oh and the papers. but im in new zealand. ill be keeping an eye out for you other answers...
Just stop in to places you want to work at and ask for an application. Bring the applications back home, fill them out, and then bring them back. It's pretty simple. Then, the place will contact you if they want to interview you for the job. If you want to earn good money, work somewhere you'll get tips.
GOOD LUCK!!! that's all i have to say about that! even adults with years of experience are having a hell of a time finding a job in this economy.
    the mall
    ask Ivy.

    anythingonyourmindivy.yolasite.com
Make a resume. And go to local stores or the local mall ask around at the stores if they are currently hiring. Some may ask you to fill out an application. If they are not hiring it is still good to fill out an application and leave a resume so they will call you when they are hiring. I got my first job when I was 15 even though they only hired 16 years and up they still hired me all they needed was a letter of permission from a parent.
you can get an easy job in an area where you are most comfortable working in
i suggest you try project payday, the best of all i tried, it's free to sign up until this Tuesday, or %26amp;45 after tuesday
pace yourself. don't gas yourself up and make plans, get alot of applications, and work during the summer
    get a job.

    go apply,for a job
really it depends where you live. Now if you live where there is a six flags park, go there. they hire anyone. given you cant be picky bout your pay or the job they offer you. but its a job. if your gonna be picky then no one can help you but otherwise try major companies like walmart walgreens mcdonalds burgerking etc etc
apply to a lot of job. and never ever give up. =]
Well you first need a resume. On the resume you would put your experiences and skills. Like if you're good with computers or maybe you're great with animals or something. You can put volunteer experiences, schools you've been too. Brag about yourself, what you've accomplished that makes your application better than the others. You would also put your age and personal info like phone number and address.

If you find a place hiring drop off your resume with a cover letter. A cover letter is letter saying Hi, I'm blah and I am interested in working at blah because blahblahblah. Give them reasons. If you want to work at Starbucks tell them you love their drinks, their customer service is nice and such. Flatter them.

Ask to speak to the manager so you can show the manager you care about the job enough to talk to him/her in person. Hand them the resume and maybe ask them if they are hiring, or when you might hear back from them. Just remember to BE POLITE and smile. Be friendly. You might want to call back in a week if they haven't called back.

Ask your relatives or friends about jobs too and what THEY put on their resumes for advice as well.

I hope I helped a tad and hope it goes well! :)

[It's my first time answering a question =)]
I still believe parents know best. So listening to them might be your best option, however if they are letting you out on your own. At 15, the best places for you to work are grocery stores. They usually always hire for cashiers, and in the mean time you can work up a resume, and find jobs that don't have restrictions on age, or for your age level.

    Happy Job Hunting!
i would try publix i know being a bag girl may not sound too appealing but i would give it a try!! also maybe baby sitting dog walking stuff like that

    GOOD LUCK
Put together a resume put down your availability, your interests and get a reference from a teacher. Just remember every one has to start somewhere people love hiring kids still in school it's cheaper for them! Just look on line and apply and hand out resumes. Just be super confident and go for it! First jobs are usually the best not to much responsibility lol!

Library- I need advice/tips on how to create a teen book club for teens in my community.?

The book clubs that I have joined held discussions at a coffee shop or bookstore. The managers of these businesses allowed us to post a sign stating what book we were reading and the date for discussion. At one club, our first meeting entailed planning the books we were going to read. The rule was that you had to have read a book before recommending it and then you would lead the discussion on this book. You might try asking your local library for help or go online to Barnes and Noble.com; they have alot of discussion resources listed on their site. Be patient, sometimes it takes a while for these clubs to catch on...just remember to have fun!Library- I need advice/tips on how to create a teen book club for teens in my community.?

  • Any advice for this teen problem?

My daughter has been harassed by other students for over 10 years. This past week another girl her age got in her face on the school bus spoiling to fight her. My daughter told her she didn't want to fight and the girl called her a terrible name. My daughter snapped and slugged her.

Both girls got suspended off the bus for 3 days. My husband and I agreed with the suspension. We don't agree with fighting but there comes a time that you have to stand your ground. My daughter chose 3 days of In School Suspension so that she could still ride the bus to school. She began the ISS the same day the suspension was given. She hasn't spoke of the incident to anyone.

Today she received a hateful email from this girl. It was full of awful language and threats. Based on her rants, one could tell that this girl is in a bad place mentally.

We want to speak to the mother but our daughter says it will only make harassment worse.

Please I need some advice here. Worried for her safety.Any advice for this teen problem?
My first question is why has this gone on for 10 years?? As a parent who has had a child with similiar experiences, I know that after just a few months my daughter showed signs of stress and depression that affected her...I cant imagine how a child would be feeling after 10 years of this. Please talk to the school imemdiately...show them the emails...so they can be aware of the threat the other child poses to your's. Your daughter's refusing to talk and not wanting to make things worse could be a sign that she feels no one will listen or help anyway, so why even try. I would suggest sending her to a therapist or school counselor, explaining that what she tells them will go no where else and that it is a safe place to talk about all she has been through.

You do need to contact the other child's parents..to make it clear that you will not tolorate their child threatening, spreading rumors or tormenting your child. Make it clear that if it happens again, you will not only report it to the school but to the police. This other girl has clearly never had anyone step up to her and make her accountable. she is old enough now to find out what happens when this sort of thing happens in the real world and her parents need the wake up call. Your job is to protect your child...even if she doesn;t want you to.Any advice for this teen problem?
Her parents are useless, I would print off a copy of the e-mail showing the address it came from and go talk with the Principal about this issue. Your daughter has a right not to be harassed in school. This has to stop. If the principal does nothing go over his head to who ever is in charge of the schools in the grade your daughter attends. If this can not be solved by the school system them explain to them that you will just have to seek a legal remedy to this issue. Like a restraining order against this girl. The school is responsible for your child's safety until she gets home. They need to be held responsible.
well the girls parents obviously know theres a problem... so talking to them would only make matters worse...

I actually agree with your daughter punching her, sometimes people have to learn the lesson the hard way and although right now it may complicate things, in the end it might make it better...

Last fall I was beat up by 10-15 girls, and now I'm friends with every single one of them except 2, who I havent seen since...

A year and a half ago, a friend of mine and I were really mean to this other girl... We teased her, embarassed her, beat her up, ruined her digital camera, and her mom called our parents to try and solve it... Our parents believed us, not her, and thought her mom was nuts... Then we made more fun of her... It made things worse and because of us she had to switch schools... I feel really bad about it now...
1:GO WITH YOUR GIRL TO SCHOOL

    2:FIND THE GIRL SHE FOUGHT

    3:WORK A PEACE AGGREMENT!
I really doubt the parents are going to do a whole lot. That's the case in a lot of cases...as sad as it is. The best thing to do is print the email off and ask if you can have a meeting with the principal at school, the school counselor and if she's in high school most of the time now a days they have a ';school cop'; that monitors things like harrassment. Your daughter should be able to go to school without being harrassed and what this girl is doing is harrassing her! The girl needs to also be disciplined for the harrassment or it will just keep happening. I really hope this gets worked out. I hate how cruel kids can be to each other. Isn't it just awful. I hope your daughter does have some really good positive friends at school that can help her through all this as well. Best of luck to you and your little girl!
If the mother didn't make her go to the counseling or whatever, then you need to speak to the father. He needs to do something about this, and make sure BOTH of her parents are very well aware that if ANY harm comes to your daughter as a result of their child, you WILL be pressing charges because this harassment has GOT to stop. Your child should not have to live in fear, simply because some other child has some issues.

If you can't get hold of a parent, speak to the guidance counselor at the school on your own. Make it clear how obvious it is that this girl has some psychological issues. Print out the email and show it to them. Tell them that your daughter literally fears for her life, and that this is harming her both physically (it is draining to be worrying like this at a young age) and emotionally and psychologically. Suggest that maybe the counselor could speak to her and then contact the girls' parents to get this under control.

If THAT'S not possible, head directly to the principal and tell him/her the entire story and ordeal. Let them know that you will not put up with your child being harassed by another.

Don't go in ranting and raving. Speak calmly and they are more likely to take you seriously. They don't need another deranged parent in there. They need someone civilized and you have an obligation to your daughter to keep your cool and be there for her.

I wish you the best of luck.
As much as you would like to .. The best thing is not to go on about how this girls home life is... The only thing that might do is make you look bad...That also gives the other person the rights to look into your home life..

Your daughter is sort of right. Going to the girls parents might make things worse for her. But you do need to go to the school. Bring in the emails the girl send your daughter as proof as to what she has said to her.

See what the school can do first and then see what your options are. Changing schools or home school or other things like that if the school is not able to help..

    Good Luck.
Print off the email and show it to the school counselor and tell him/her what you know about the girl's history. This is the kind of person every school fears these days. She is very likely victimizing others as well as your child. She needs help asap.

I want to lose some weight & change my hairstyle do you have any good advice for a seventeen year old teen?

If you give me any hairstyle advice some that works for a kid who likes country music %26amp; pop/punk rock.I want to lose some weight %26amp; change my hairstyle do you have any good advice for a seventeen year old teen?
As far as losing weight goes, just take it slow. Start walking or running for a little bit more each day, and just get more activity into each day. Eat breakfast everyday to jumpstart your metabolism. Drink enough water. Leave 2 or 3 bites to every meal (don't eat everything on your plate). Snack, but healthfully.

For the haircut, keep your hair medium-to-long, and then maybe get sweeping side-bangs. If you're not into that, skip the bangs and get angles or even a layered cut. It also depends on your hair volume and color.I want to lose some weight %26amp; change my hairstyle do you have any good advice for a seventeen year old teen?

good luck in life i hope you make it big one dayWhat advice does anyone have for a teen with a dream?
Ignore advice about cutting demos and forget about record deals you are not ready yet. Accept the fact that you might never be ready.

Understand this, becoming a singer and becoming a professional singer are two different things. You have to become a singer first and then, and only then will you be in a position to decide whether becoming a professional singer is realistic possibility or not.

Being a superb singer does not mean you are a commercial proposition. It's no good singing like an angel if no one wants to hear your particular vocal style.

Some people are so naturally talented that they can learn to sing superbly very quickly, the rest of us have to work hard for years to learn to sing well.

As you are still a teen I will assume you have little or no experience.

If you are still with mum and dad it would be nice if you have their support because it is their ears that will be on the business end of your practise.

The most important thing is to continue with your education and or career because the chances of making it as a singer are so small you have to consider what to do if you fail as a singer. Last year I made a business plan to get a loan for my sound system, It is very hard to get people to loan you thousands of pounds for any business connected to entertainment and I could not have done it had I not been reasonably well educated.

Now, learning to sing. This will take a long time, you need to practise, practise, practise and you need to get regular experience in front of an audience.

Singing lessons can be very good depending on the quality of the teacher if you can afford it. It can be very expensive.

Take up karaoke as a hobby and go as often as you can. Some experienced singers and musicians would scoff at this idea but it will give you immediate access to an audience. Learn the songs you are going to sing before you go out. The best way to do this is to sing karaoke on line. For about £6 per month (UK) you can have access to thousands of karaoke backing tracks (singtotheworld.co.uk) and this is the cheapest, easiest and quickest way to learn to sing to a moderate standard.

If you go to a lot of different karaoke venues you will get applause from people and this will encourage you. occasionally people might be rude and ignorant about your singing but you have to learn to cope with that. Most karaoke singers are amateurs but I have met several professional, ex professional and semi professional singers on the karaoke circuit. Some professional pub %26amp; club singers use karaoke venues to practice new material, these people would make ideal friends and aquantencies for someone like you because you can learn a lot from them.

When you have become competent at this level try open mike nights when you sing with a real musician, if you can find someone who will play when you sing. Singing with a piano player or a guitarist is harder than karaoke because you will need to learn the words and the phrasing of the song as well.

Consider becoming a musician yourself, you are still young enough to learn. This will help you immensly with your timeing and rhythm and eventually if you stick to it, it will mean you can go and perform any time anywhere.

Websites like youtube and expertvillage have free singing/ guitar/piano lessons etc.

The most important thing is to really enjoy what you do because then you are more likly to keep up the practise.

Van Morrison once said, ';Music is very spiritual, but the music industry is not'; If you follow your intended path you will meet a lot of really nice people. You will also meet a lot of real b.astards. Beware and toughen up.

Feel free to E mail me should you want further advise.
yeah i know how u feel me and other people i kno have the same dream i recommend recording ur voice on voice recording and uploading it to popular websites like myspace or youtube
Make a DEMO CD and then distribute it. Like to some of the local radio stations in your area and ask them if they will play some local talent. You can also submit your CD to record labels.

Oh, and don't forget about You Tube and Myspace, you need to try to get all the exposure you can to get people to recognize you and your talent.

    Hope that helps some.

    Good luck!
Map it out for yourself. What do you really think about that pop goddess center stage with all the dancers and musicians playing on three stadium screens. Who is this person? Who are all these other people? What about the people back stage and the PR people, record production people, traveling roadies. And the list goes on as the beat goes on. Think of the talent needed and the cost! Next stop the Twilight Zone with no stops ahead, but suddenly there is a sign up ahead the Twilight Zone. Buckle up, don't break a leg and enjoy the green room. The reality is there is a lot to learn and a lot to do and it is not cheep or easy.
i don't know much about it but i'd say practice practice practice and join a choir/ singing group
    Go for it girl!

Ignore the answer above from Keith, he doesn't know what he's talking. Nor is he any where near qualified to give advice on the subject, Kareoke.....are you joking.

He obviously didn't read your question, in which you clearly stated that you wanted to pursue a professional career in singing, so if someone doesn't have any sensable or relevant suggestions to offer, they shouldn't comment at all. Especially when aren't an authority on the subject.

Since you stated that you are interested in contacting a record label, you should look into doing a demo.

Keep your dreams alive, and don't listen to the wanna be's that only want to hold you down.
yes, make sure vocally your very good, record yourself and listen to it back, if ur crap then be realistic. get other people to listen to tapes of u singing but dont tell them its you to see what they really think. get singing lessons so that you can hold notes etc and know scales

then do your reasearch, ur best bet would be to find an agent as its more professional to go through an agent to a record company.

go for it, also is it really a record artist you want to be?

maybe try thearter etc aswell as this requires u to sing

Where is a a good website for teen advice?

    www.teenshealth.org

    www.teenhealthfx.com

I would use teen health fx.Where is a a good website for teen advice?
I personally wouldn't go to the internet for advice such as that, go to your friends and/or your family. They're going through or have gone what you're going through now.Where is a a good website for teen advice?
    depends on the topic
I used to work for a teen advice website, but I honestly wouldn't recommend using one. While it can be nice to have someone around your age to listen to and offer advice on your situation, sometimes their lack of training, or their lack of perspective can really leave you without much benefit. I'd DEFINITELY recommend a guidance counselor. That's what they do for a living, and you can trust them to point you in the right direction.

Teens: What advice do you have for adults?

I just thought id reverse thingys question o_OTeens: What advice do you have for adults?
Keep us on a leash but be willing to let us off it sometimes. Take each kid as an individual, not all of us have lost our virginity and gotten high.Teens: What advice do you have for adults?
not to be so uptight, have some fun and let us have some fun too! you are only young once right!
    -Have fun sometimes

    -Let us go out sometimes!

-Accept our mistakes but don't hold it against us all the time!
';Keep us on a leash but be willing to let us off it sometimes. Take each kid as an individual, not all of us have lost our virginity and gotten high';.. that is the answer from somene that had answerd this question, but i think this is a GREAT answer. I would give her the best answer!.. But all though, some parents should keep their children on a 'leash' because some kids are having sex alll the time! and getting high and stuff.
    LISTEN TO US!
Give em anough freedom but dont let it get out of hand, ask ur daughter 4 things dont make ur daughter ask 4 things, ya know girl things i mean, and let them hang with friends
Please be more quite when making love
    LISTEN.

If they're going to do anything for their teens, they should do that.
We know you love us and stuff, but unless there is a chance of any ACTUAL DANGER give us some freedom...for example - i'm trying to get my mum to let me go on an exchange to Germany. I'd live with a family of people who go to a SMALL WALDORF SCHOOL for a term, so they have kids, are part of a smallish community, etc. and if i wanted to at anytime i could phone how and ask to come home.

but mum is saying that she seriously needs to ';think about it';. which i understand...but she surely doesn't need to ';think about it'; for so LONG. I'm not going to be staying with complete strangers - mum can meet them and stuff before I go, and i won't even be leaving the continent. she doesn't get it.

sorry, i got carried away there.

    GIVE US FREEDOM!
Don't generalize teens as 'bad eggs' based on one action.

Talk to us if you want to know what's going on!

If you want us to do something, TELL US TO DO IT.

    We're not mind readers.

If we don't want to talk about it, we DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT.

    that's it for now.....♥
Definitely act like a parent. Don't try to be our buddy. It's good to be friends, but what teens need most is a strong, supportive parent to look up to.

Also, know when to let go, and treat us how you would like to be treated. A 16 year old should not be talked at like a 5 year old. We're almost adults, and we like to be spoken to like adults. Respect us and we'll respect you.

As the other person said, treat us as an individual. no stereotypes. All adults aren't old and boring. All teens aren't crazy and stupid.

Let us learn form our mistakes. If we don't study for a test, don't rag on us. We'll know we made a mistake when we end up getting a E.

Listen, don't just hear. I know i hear my mom say all the time ';I heard you.'; Hearing doesn't matter, it's listening that does. you'll be surprised at what amazing conversations you can have with teens if you just give them a chance to talk.

Don't assume you are right just because you are the adult. Hear both sides of the story before you decide.

Remember how you were like when you were a teen. You made some mistakes, some bad decisions, did things you will regret. So will we. It's part of growing older and learning from your mistakes.
Don't forget what it was like to be a teen: YOUR generation wasn't perfect, neither is ours.

Let us have fun once in a while.

Admit that we have more on our plate then you did, we have to clean up after the war, GLOBAL WARMING, and whatever else happens to the world.

  • I know this is a common thing for teens, but I would like advice about a girl. What should I do?

I'm 18, about to finish High School, just got promoted to manager at work, and I guess everything's going well. I had a girlfriend about a year and a half ago. We went out for about 3 years. I have tried to ask out 3 different girls since then and have had no luck. I have very low confidence when it comes to girls. I've tried to just say I give up, but I miss having someone to talk to and be around intimately (not sexually.) The girls, I've been interested in, I haven't even thought about that way. At work, there is this girl who is perfect. She's seriously the most beautiful girl I've ever seen(especially when she smiles), she's funny, smart, and is perfect. She doesn't have a boyfriend and hasn't talked about any potentials. I was just gonna see if anyone had any advice or if I should probably just leave it alone, I don't see how I could have a chance, but it still makes me wonder. ThanksI know this is a common thing for teens, but I would like advice about a girl. What should I do?
Be yourself. Just be kind.Smile for her. Talk to her. Ask her about the things she likes. If you think she's so beautiful let her know. don't say it in a way that would suggest anything, but let her know truthfully how you feel. Woman like the fact that a man has the courage to talk to her. You never know, she might like you too. Good luck.I know this is a common thing for teens, but I would like advice about a girl. What should I do?
    go for it and try
One thing a girl likes to see in guy is confidence. You have to raise your self-esteem and confidence. If you really like this girl, then you have to talk to her or else you will never know. You dont want to be left wondering. Go for it.

Style and hair advice for a teen with a big forehead !?

    My forehead is huge!

I look best hair-wise with a centre part yet a full fringe looks a bit too blunt and side fringes make my big forehead look really really wide and huge.

I'm sorry to post such a stupid question but I just can't sort it out, my forehead looks terrible and big. I'm coming up for sixteen and I find myself a bit concious of it. I do have big eyes though so maybe that balances it ?

Which hairstyles/cuts would help me with this ?

Thankyou to anyone who has any makeup or hair advice for me !!Style and hair advice for a teen with a big forehead !?
try bangsStyle and hair advice for a teen with a big forehead !?
for your hair, I would stick with bangs. They are great for hiding a large forehead I should know. You could go with different lengths or perhaps a side part with bangs.

For your eyes when applying makeup if you use eye liner just line the top, that will help them look smaller and use a dark color. But the absolute best advice you can get is to experiment with your make up. Try lining the tops only, the botoms only, or both. Try using different shades of eyeshadows. Have fun with it. This will help you get better at applying it and you can see for yourself which you like better.

    Good Luck!
Hard to give advice without a photograph. Ask your hairdresser
big foreheads are in ask rihanna and trya banks. i would probably go with bangs, but definitely ask your beautician for advice.
I don't have picture of you but my advise would be to get some bangs put just a little nothing to heavy maybe just section off about a 1/4 -1/2 inch and use that for your bangs. Don't have them cut straight across but have then point cut. That means that they cut the hair using just the tips of the scissors at almost the same direction the hair is going. this gives a much softer look to the bangs. Also you could have a little side fringe if you have some bangs but as you stated above this can make your face look skinny and long. The ideal shape that you are trying to make your face is an oval. So if you have a round face you should try to cover up the cheeks, square cover the corners, long cover the bangs. Hope this helps.

Im ready for my first kiss and i need older teens advice please?

i wana kiss my girlfriend and her friends say she wants to kiss me but im wonderin how to make a move and what to expect and were is a good place to do this and shuld i let her make a move because she hasnt yet but i was hoping for itIm ready for my first kiss and i need older teens advice please?
okay, make sure you go somewhere really nice for dinner.

id sayy like the mask or something, maybe fats. idk.

well then if you live by the beach then u r set!! take her there instead of dinner.

make sure that night that she knows that you think she is beautiful.

look beloww.Im ready for my first kiss and i need older teens advice please?
If you drove her to a date-

When you get back to her house, walk her to the doorstep. After she says goodbye, there will probably be a few seconds where both of you just stand still. THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY.

If she drove you to a date (this is what situation I was in)

When you get back to your house, she'll expect you to get out of the car first. Say your goodbyes in the car, and then slowly move towards her. She'll know what's going on.

If neither of you can drive yet-

Before you get out of wherever you were (Movie theater lobbies, or in the parking lot of wherever), before you start walking out to the cars, say your goodbyes and do it then.

    Side Notes-

Try to make it last, especially if she makes the move and surprises you. Unfortunately for me, my first girlfriend was timid and our first kiss lasted less than 2 seconds.
hmm, hey im 15, ermm u wanna do it when ur friends arnt all there, because then u can tell them about it or not as u like! and if it goes wrong they cant take the piss outta you. Id say just lean in so your noses are nearly touching and then if she wants to kiss u shell do the same, then just go for it and dont go in with tongue straight away ! also dont worry if you get it wrong the first timee itll be bettter the second and third and fourth etc goood luck man
lol you are way cute. lol You sound like me when I was hoping for my first kiss. lol It's a kiss just relax and go with the flow things will go much easier trust me!! But to tell you the truth your girlie might like it if you made the first move trust me!! =)

    GOOD luck!!!
well first of all are you nervous.and i think u shld make a move because most girls wait for guys to.now...what to expect...idk everyone is different
look sweetie you will know when its the right time just don't let it be Corney cause she will think that somethings wrong with you
don't be nervous....when you 2 are alone and the moment is right then kiss her....mmmmmmmm will be delicious
you will feel it when you are ready, and it will all come naturally

A mom looking for Christian teen girl advice on books?

Hi, I have an almost 13yr old daughter %26amp; I'm looking for some good interesting Christian books for her to read that she may enjoy. Do you gals have any recommendations of Christian books that have really moved you, inspired you, changed your life, or some that you just enjoyed? Melody Carlsons Books on Color....Blade Silver,Burnt Orange,Bright Purple

These are the only ones I read but some of the other suggestions sound enterestingA mom looking for Christian teen girl advice on books?
Try ';Rachel's Tears'; (about Rachel Scott) and ';She Said Yes'; (about Cassie Bernall). They are both non-fiction books about girls who died in the Columbine high school shooting. They may be too heavy for a 13 year old, but it depends on her maturity level. Very beautiful stories, though, very inspiring. If your daughter isn't interested, you might be.
ohhh, 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper!

its amazing!!! really inspirational, she'll love it!

also the Chicken Soup series have good stories in them, and a lot have to do with miracals and God
I really liked the Christy Miller and Sierra Jenson Series by Robin Jones Gunn, theyre very inspirational, and overall great books

  • Dieting advice for a teen that's overweight?

    Hey guys x

I'm trying too lose weight but everytime i say i will i never get round too it i'm overweight for my age and i'd like too be healthy and pretty like all the other girls;( so does anyone know how i can become healthy and happy with my body and maybe just some good tips and advice what too avoid and how to avoid it i'm very addicted too fizzy juice.

links are welcome but no pills!!

thanks so much xxx it means alot i'm also wondering how i can spend less time onlineDieting advice for a teen that's overweight?
Well first, you need to get motivated. Find a girl who's body you like and aim to shoot for that. Also, cardio exercise is essential for weightloss, not just diet alone. (Cardio meaning Running, jogging, swimming, basically anything that gets your heart beating). Also, lay off sweets as much and stick to lean protein (meat) and of course fruits and vegetables as opposed to a bag of chips. Goodluck!!

Any advice for a teen who will be living own their own?

and like what bills and etc?

thanksAny advice for a teen who will be living own their own?
I live in southeast, tx and here's what bills look like for us:

    Bills: Electricity -$130

    Water- $20

    Internet-$55

    Groceries: $300 (2 people)

    Gas- depends on your car

Cable- No idea, we don't watch television

    cell- depends on plan

    rent- depends on rate

I think that is it, you may have some other expenses to calculate.

Always make sure you have enough money for bills.

%26amp; never quit a job without having another in line that can pay for everything.

Don't let friends bum your apartment. They'll run up your electricity, water, and you'll never enjoy your place.Any advice for a teen who will be living own their own?
Make sure you are really prepared and understand you will have to hold down a job no matter how much you may hate that job. Budget your money wisely. You will have rent, electric, water and may have to pay sewer, trash and gas (depending on what heats where you are living). Then you will have to buy food plus have money for transportation which will depend on if you drive and everything. I know when i first moved out on my own with all the bills it was about $1,200 a month.
Set up a budget including food, shelter, transportation, clothing, entertainment and be sure you budget about 20 per cent of all that for unknown.
Get a solid job working at least 40+ hours a week, find a cheap but livable apartment and make it home. Try to get a good MPG car and let the rest get played by ear
Be ready to work hard. Try to stay away from debt (ie credit cards). pay for the necessitities first! Spend your money wisely, save as much as possible.GOOD LUCK

Love advice for a confused teen?

I really like this one girl and she likes me too and we have hooked up but she doesn't want a relationship but I really do and she wants me to wait for her to be ready. But on the other hand a girl I also like wants to f*** but i don't like her nearly as much. What should i do?Love advice for a confused teen?
if you really liked the girl (the first girl you've mentioned)...you will respect her decision...you will understand why she refused to have a relationship. maybe she is not ready or not 100% sure of what she feels or she have more plans to her life before having a relationship with a guy. if you are really interested and if you really like her, you will wait and you are willing to accept and understand things...you will wait for the time she will finally say ';yes'; to a relationship that you like. don't change the way you are to her...stay by her side and make her feel special...and you are too young to have relationship, you must know that LOVE CAN WAIT...you don't have to rush...if you really love her...you will wait for her through whatever will happen.

to another girl (you said that you're not that interested to her)...if i were you (If i am a man and at the same time, on your situation) i will ignore her...i will focus my attention to the girl that i'm more interested and the one who i really like. because if you like a person or if you love a person, you will not going to turn your head to another girl...and you said, you're not totally interested. so, just do what is right (Focus your attention to only one) and wait for the right time.

just pray and exert your effort to make her notice how much you like her...be faithful and understanding. don't be confused...just follow what your heart says...just as long you know its right...go for it.

goodluck, hope this advice helped you. :)

    Girl advice for teen guy?

Im a teen guy, 17, and I really like this 15 year old girl at the theater im in... shes so beautiful and is a really great person overall... the problem is her parents are really overprotective and wont even let her go out, let alone get a boyfriend or anything... Ive actually never had a girlfriend myself but i would like to ask her out... but i dont get the feeling she's into me at all... she thinks im too short and doesnt take me too seriously for some reason (Im 5'9 thats not that short is it?) Anyway what should I do? Id appreciated honest, thoughtful adviceGirl advice for teen guy?
If your 5鈥? how tall is she鈥?but you should tell her how you fell and be serious about it so she knows your serious and tell her your willing to talk to her parents if that will make them more comfortable and you can spend time with each other at her house so her parents be more willing and 4 it ask her parents what there rules rGirl advice for teen guy?
5'9 isnt short at all because guys who are 6 feet are considered tall and youre only a few inches shorter.

just go for it. dont be all gay like will you out with me? just be like hey why dont we chill this weekend?

about the parents. if you meet them, and present yourself mature/well mannered/charming etc, they might let her go out with you.
sometimes you gotta make the big move, have you confronted her and told her from a confident one on one talk how you feel about her? firstly you gotta gain her attention before worrying about her parents, she might not notice you, but you gotta gain her attention, and it seems like looks are not cutting it, so you gotta show her the guy you are inside. Just be funny, charming, and suave. Believe me, waiting for a certain girl to notice you is not gonna happen! You gotta get out of your Comfort zone. Good luck buddy. have confidense in yourself.
put your energy into girls who are into you, and 5'9 is not short!!

i dont think you should ask her out..but thats just my opinion
    im not a girl lol but for points i'll give it a shot. She's not into you then why bother? PLus her parents are so protective so its really gonna be tough. If you do reallyreally like her. Try to make friends wtih her and be friendly first,. Don't go straight into '; Like to go to dinner sometime?';
Meet her parents, and make a really good impression.

If they think your a really responsible, great guy, they're more likely to let her go out with you.
I am a patriot fan and 5'9 isnt that short.. its close..but not too bad.

    I would take it slow.

maybe lead hints into it but pay attention to her body language to see if she is into it..
dont just ask her out, especially if you're not even sure she likes you.

You have to wait til you get close and know that both of you like eachother before u just ask them out.

Maybe you could ask her if she wants to get lunch instead? Get talking?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
Let her know that you would be interested in going out with her, and see what she says first of all. If she's interested, maybe she could talk to her parents about and see if she could convince them to give it a try.
u should ask her out without her parent noticing if he doesn't like u he wouldn't do out with u but if she does then your dream come true.
Go for it, the worst she could say is no and if she does, then it wasn't in God's plan for you to happen.

    Best of luck :)

Ps. Your not short, my 18 year old neighbor is 5'1'; and if she likes you, height shouldn't matter.

take A RISK. you have nothing to lose.

instead of telling us about your flaws, i bet theres so much more to you then that,

no ones perfect, but hey good luck

    forget her
5'9'; isn;'t that short. try going out with her as friends! that way u can get to know her better. thsi can be achieved by hanging out with her at gatherings with ur theater class. initiate conversation so taht she'll notice u. if she's still giving u the cold shoulder then maybe she isn';t as great as u thought. if she is responsive then be friends with her and get to know her family as a friend and be patient with things. then u can see if she feels the same way after u've est. a friendship. it always works better that way. especially with overprotective parents involved
well first trying talking to her get to know her better become friends at firsts, try to see if she likes you, or you can just go for it and ask her out the only thing she can say is yes or no, and ur not that short ur average. good luck=^.^=
First of all yeah your a little short I'm 14 and 6ft 2in. secondly if you wanna find out if she likes you politely be straight forward but not to forward okay. just casually ask if she's into you and then if she says yes then go for it if not then roll with the punch. just remember be cool not an ***.

    Sincerely,

    Chris
lmfao... strike conversations with her. she might like you.

thats soo sweeet =D no 5'9 isnt short! jeez. just like hang out with her. not as dates. eventually shell think it IS a date without it actually being a date... so its kinda a date.

no need to tell parents, its just hanging out =D get it?

    Good luck
Omg, no way is 5'9 short--are you kidding me? That's a joke right? I'm 5'8 and know for a fact that's not short.

Anyways..She should take you seriously--and exactly how tall is she? For you to say she thinks your height is short is rediculous. Mabye she likes people who are 6' (heck if I know).

Try and tell your feelings about her, to her somehow. You'll find a way of doing this, if she says no to you asking her out or what not, than move on.
    i'm 5'7';, so I think you're a nice height.

and honestly, if I was in the position, I would move on. there are more fish in the sea.
1st no your not really short.

If she's not taking you serious then you consider giving up on her, I won't give you hope because sounds like eventually she would break your heart. Not to mention her parents, how are you going to ask her out when her parents do not agree? sounds like alot of sneaking out, missing out and major problems if the parents find out so basically an insecure relationship.

You should confront her about what so ever you feel and ask her to only be honest with you because you will not remain waiting forever for her attention.

Overall your still young, and this looks like a damaged relationship to be if happened since her parents are over protective. But since your so much into the girl, Confrontation sounds good and from there good luck.
no its not short. umm... hate to break it to you but if shes not interested theres only a few things you can do. flirt, give up, or flirt some more.

i need your advice... your 17 the guy in my question is 18(barely) and so am i (but not barely)... so could you answer this for me... return the favor.. ?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
i understand what ur saying im not guys like my but i cant really go anywhere but i can have a boyfriend
i really wouldn't know what to say.

try talking to her and if she acts like your annoying, shes most likely not interested in you.

but if she smiles and acts shy then she probably does like you.

im just saying cuz thats what id do. haha.

and if she does go out with you, you might not wanna do or say ANYTHING dumb infront of her parents:) im just saying, sorry if this doesnt help.
    5'9'; isn't really short

for some reason just from that paragraph i get the feeling ur a really nice guy, especially since u said beautiful not hot :)

anywho..i think u should go for it, if she's says no, her loss

    u'll find some1 better after her :]

First of all, if she isn't allowed to date, I wouldn't start by asking her out. That could get you off to a very bad start. You could try asking her to have lunch with you (or something of that nature)-something that can give you some time at school.

Second, what is making you believe that she isn't in to you? If you already think this but are still attracted to her, you might pursue her anyway. But be prepared that she may not have the same feelings back. If you are wrong and she does like you (or doesn't necessarily dislike you) then you could go ahead in getting to know her.

    Good luck!
five nine is not short. and just talk to her and get to know her and then see about asking her out.
Hmm, maybe try to flirt with her a bit and see her reaction. You don't wanna ask her out right away because that might freak her out. So just take things slow and see if she starts to warm up to you at all.

As for whether or not you're short, I don't think 5'9 is that short.

    answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgILz40o6.GwcuyBPOEv4A7sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081118194548AAjf7Y0
just talk to her as much as you can if she likes you and you can tell ask her to do something she will find a way to be aloud trust me

also think how i feel im 5' :(
I think you should wait just a little bit to get her to be more comfortable with you. First go out as friends, or on a group date. Later, when her parents start to let go (if they do), then see if you can ask her out.
you are too short and no one likes a patriots fan
